Jerry DeWitt is a former Pentecostal pastor from DeRidder, Louisiana, and was the first public graduate of the Clergy Project. Jerry’s story has been featured in the New York Times Magazine and other prominent newspapers such as the New Orleans Times-Picayune and the Washington Post; he has appeared on numerous television news programs. He is a frequent guest on atheist podcasts such as The Thinking Atheist and FFRF’s Freethought Radio. Most recently, Jerry was involved in the inauguration of Community Mission Chapel in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he preaches humanism to a congregation of fellow nonbelievers.
